Signing of MOU between Gratia Christian College and Oral Roberts University (ORU) USA for Academic Collaboration and Study Opportunities [21 March, 2025]

Gratia Christian College (GCC) and Oral Roberts University (ORU) of USA officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the campus of GCC to establish a long-term partnership with the objective to promote international academic exchange and offering more study opportunities.

The collaboration covers two key aspects:

  1. Pathways for Student Advancement: Students who have completed relevant Higher Diploma programmes at GCC may articulate to the degree programmes of ORU. Students graduated from the degree programmes of GCC can apply for the master programmes of ORU, with the opportunity to complete the master programme in 1.5 years.
  1. Further Study Opportunities for Faculty: ORU will provide online doctoral programmes for GCC academic staff including Doctor of Ministry (DMin), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Doctor of Education (EdD), and Doctor of Psychology (PsyD), along with preferential tuition fees to encourage continuing education for the academic staff.

The MOU was signed by Prof. Chui Hong Sheung, President of Gratia Christian College and Dr. Kathaleen Reid-Martinez, Provost of Oral Roberts University, witnessed by Prof. Edmund Ng, Head of Christian Ministry programmes of Gratia School of Professional Studies and Dr. Adrian Hinkle, Dean of College of Theology and Ministry of ORU.

The representative of ORU introduced the mission of the university and its globally diverse learning environment during the signing ceremony. ORU currently have students from over 160 countries and is committed to developing Christian leaders who make a global impact. The number of students was increasing over the past 16 years and the number of students reached over 7,000 for the first time in the 2024/25 academic year.

Prof. Chui expressed his gratitude for the collaboration in his speech, “Gratia Christian College is the only post-secondary institution in Hong Kong established in the name of Jesus Christ. We are committed to the core values of commitment, humility, resilience, integrity, service and teamwork. We are deeply thankful for this partnership with ORU, which provides valuable study opportunities for both our students and the faculty, with mutual support to jointly nurture Christian leaders who will serve the world in the future.”

This collaboration marks a significant step for Gratia Christian College. The College will continue to engage in global collaborations with Christian higher education institutions, broadening students’ horizons and offering them more study pathways.
